OpenVPN client (v. 3.0.2) on iOS 12.1 does not route packets to OpenVPN server

Since about two weeks or so, communication between my iOS devices via OpenVPN into my private network does not work anymore. The clients connect successfully to the server (both, client and server logs confirm this) but it seems like the client does not route requests to my private network via the VPN. tcpdumping on the OpenVPN server's virtual interface confirms this observation.

OpenVPN Inc does not want to receive any feedback for the "Connect"
OpenVPN clients via the community bug trackers (here and in GH issues).
