Description
Hi
I am following through with the guide at https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/wiki/Easy_Windows_Guide.
build-ca fails with
error:0E065068:configuration file routines:STR_COPY:variable has no value:conf_def.c:592:line 283
As the error message does not explain what variable is missing I can't fix it myself.
I used the openvpn-install-2.4.3-I602 installer from the download page. This is a Windows 10 64bit system, latest patches applied.

Does this error occur if you use the 3.0.3 release of EasyRSA? I believe version 2.x is included with OpenVPN.

Closing. it's been fixed for a while now.
If you followed that Old Guide correctly you will not have permission to edit files in that directory, you must use an admin command prompt.
A more suitable method would be to copy the entire
openvpn/easy-rsa
directory to your home directory and work on it there.Ensure you change this line in vars.bat:
set HOME=\path_to\copy_of\esay-rsa
If done correctly, I do not get this error.
