Description
When I run openvpn using a configuration based on the included sample-config-files/server.conf, I get the following error message:
Options error: --explicit-exit-notify cannot be used with --mode server
If that's the case, it should be removed from the server.conf configuration sample.

Since nobody bothered to fix the documentation for 2.3, and that is now really out of maintenance, I'm closing this ticket.
It works in 2.4 and up, and we're close to 2.6.0 release.

good point. that option *is* supported on the server side for 2.4, but the corresponding change to the sample config sneaked into the release/2.3 branch by means of commit 0b4707472675e809b924fd8ca907534e0da16dbb - which wasn't really meant to be applied 1:1 to release/2.3
