Description
Hi,
I cannot manage to keep my openvpn open more than 1 minute under Windows 7 Enterprise, SP1, 64 bits.
After this minute, I see:
- "TUN/TAP I/O operation aborted, exiting" in the log
- The connection is closed.
Sometimes, it tries to reconnect and, if I manage to be quick enough to re-enable the TAP device manually, I can keep the VPN open. Otherwise, I need to manually re-enable the TAP device in order to re-establish vpn connection.
With same parameters and certificates, this VPN works well and is stable under Linux. I have tried different versions of OpenVPN client, 32 or 64 bits, without success so far.
Regards,

"Something with the tap driver is funny"... you could try removing and reinstalling the tap driver, or try the old NDIS5 driver (that's the I00x installers, vs. the I60x installers with NDIS6).
Generally speaking, this is not how it should behave, and it works nicely for most people on Win7/64, so it's something funny with your local installation.

Hi,
Thanks for your answer.
I've found the culprit: a custom in-house service named "e-buro", which was shutting down the connection.
When I stop it, I have no longer any problem with OpenVPN connections.
You can close this ticket.
