IOS - DNS push no longer working

Description

After updating to the 3.0.1 (770) client, DNS resolution no longer works. I can see in the logs that the DNS servers are being pushed, but the phone seems to be ignoring the directives and DNS queries for internal records are failing.

This issue has been replicated on a variety of IOS devices.

I can't reproduce this on iOS 12 and current OpenVPN Connect. https://ipleak.net reports VPN-pushed DNS server.

Thanks for looking into this and sorry for the delayed response (was out on vacation).

This bug report is invalid.

After reading your commends and doing some additional troubleshooting, I realized that the issue we were experiencing was due to "DNS resolution zones".

Queries to internal hosts that were part of our primary domain were indeed working. It was queries to hosts that were on additional internal domains that were not working.

Thanks for your efforts!
