OpenVPN Connect is inaccessible to VoiceOver

Description

The latest iOS OpenVPN Connect 3.0 is not accessible to VoiceOver?, the built in screen reader on iOS.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Go to settings -> General -> Accessibility -> VoiceOver? and turn it on

Please note: At this point, VoiceOver? will modify the default gestures. Swipes will move from item to item, and a double tap will activate the currently selected one. Touching the screen where an item is and double tapping will also work.

  • Open OpenVPN Connect.

Expected: Swiping or touching an UI element should make VoiceOver? announce the item's label, type, state, or other relevant information required to operate that particular control, e.g. alternate actions.

Depending on custom control use frequency, it is possible that this only affects the main screen.

Current: VoiceOver? only sees a text label called _mainScreenButtons_. None of the controls are exposed.

This is quite serious, as on the upcoming iOS 12, this is the only version that can connect to an OpenVPN server, but the current state makes the app completely unusable for VoiceOver? users.
